About

Tunga Öztek (b. 2004, Istanbul) is a Istanbul based artist and a student in the Department of Painting at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University.

His practice focuses on the visual language of everyday life, examining how contemporary environments shape perception and experience. Working from direct observation, he is interested in ordinary moments, urban spaces, and the subtle relationships between people and their surroundings.

Tunga Öztek aims to make his paintings accessible to more people, to publicize his exhibitions, and to increase social media engagement, offering a unique value proposition for art lovers, art students, researchers, art galleries, and collectors.

His practice spans a range of media, including acrylic and mixed media on canvas, digital art, printmaking, and drawing. Each medium offers a different way of exploring observation, materiality, and visual expression.

Rather than documenting specific places, Öztek explores the cultural and visual characteristics of the environments he inhabits. Through travel and observation, he investigates how different cities and landscapes generate distinct ways of seeing, allowing each body of work to emerge from a particular encounter with place and people.
